About VOLA

1935

The TOUSSAINT company started the ski wax factory in Colmar. Without ski lifts, the waxes helped the skier to climb the hill and to slide during the downhill. The company created the brand "Parsenn" (name of the longest ski slope at that time) and the graphic still used today: a mountain goat surrounded by a triangle.

1960

In June 15 of 1940, the family left Colmar city which was destroyed during the Second World War. The travel brought them to Haute-Savoie, in PASSY at the foot of the Mont Blanc mountain. A year later, the company re-started the manufacture of ski waxes !

1960

Targeting an international market, the Parsenn brand has been changed to VOLA brand : a word that is easier to use in many languages. Adrien Duvillard, for alpine skiing, and Jean-Paul Pierrat, for Nordic skiing, brought their skills in the constant improvement of products.

Late 1980s

Vola had strong links with the Japanese company Asiatic Western (Conquest) which became the company's main client during the roaring years when Japan was booming economically. With them, Vola produced more than 1 million of 24grs blocks of wax in one year.

1995

Renewal of the company following a major restructuring: the 3rd generation takes the lead of the company. VOLA has been linked at that time with Soft Control, which developped timing equipment. Few years later, thoses 2 brands have been grouped under one unique name, VOLA, with 2 department: Sports & Timing. The timing department creates and distributes softwares and hardware timing for many sports such as skiing, equestrian sports, automobiles etc... Display, Live timing, Live streaming & Video Clip, many uses to discover !

2006

Victory of Antoine Dénériaz at the Torino Olympics Downhill. This was the achievement of a 10 years agreement of a strong and friendly collaboration between Antoine Dénériaz and Vola. It was amazing !!

2023

Vola is distributed in 31 countries around the world and has 30 employees. The company imports the brands Cober, Energiapura, KV + and SPM in France. VOLA sales its own helmets, ski goggles, alpine ski poles and sunglasses. Vola has also a Timing department creating its own systems and importing brands like Alge, Tag Heuer, MyLaps and Brower.
